Las Vegas, NV

Vegas Surgery Center, home of Vegas ENT, has achieved national accreditation from the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). This accreditation is rare in Nevada and distinguishes Vegas Surgery Center from other Ear Nose and Throat practices in Nevada.  It has come as a result of the health care facility’s adherence to rigorous federal and state standards for patient care and facility safety.  Coupled with the state-of-the-art CT scanner that the practice has on premises to diagnose conditions on the same day of the patients office visit, the practice is uniquely set up to promptly and safely take care of patients.

“The accreditation is indicative of our team’s commitment to the highest possible quality of care for our patients; it is the gold standard. We work diligently every day to make our patients happy so that they chose us to relieve their sinus suffering, and we do so in the most optimal way possible,” said Dr. Vincent Nalbone, owner of the practice.

What this means for Patients

Dr. Nalbone has, over the last several years, been consulting with numerous other leading physicians in the field.  He has made many trips to learn leading edge techniques in nasal procedures through hands-on visits, surgical participation, surgery conferences, observation and discussions with leaders and innovators across the country.  This is part of the Sinus Relief Center’s mission of learning and developing techniques that make nasal procedures safer and better.

Patients can now get a Balloon Sinuplasty (a non-invasive procedure) and other traditional sinus surgeries done right in the office.  Dr. Nalbone has learned that it is a better overall experience for patients to have most procedures done in the office rather than in a hospital.  In this fashion, patients don’t need to have general anesthesia with its risks and the associated multiple days of recovery.  The use of certain medications like Valium allow patients to undergo these procedures safely and in comfort and recover in one day.  This avoids expensive and time consuming pre-operative blood tests, EKGs, chest x-rays, clearance from primary doctors or cardiologists, fasting, etc. These tests, while necessary and justified for patients undergoing general anesthesia, are not necessary if general anesthesia can be avoided. It’s also more economical for patients, as procedures done in the office incur no hospital and no anesthesia charges.

“We are always looking for new ways to achieve better outcomes and to make the patient experience better,” said Dr Nalbone. “Now we can do that in office for most procedures, providing the patient both convenience and savings on medical expenses.”
